Authorised Economic Operator (AEO)

AEO stands for Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) or “Zugelassener Wirtschaftsbeteiligter (ZWB).

Companies designated as Authorised Economic Operators (AEO) by the respective competent customs authority have thus been certified as having a high level of reliability and to be in compliance with quality standards in accordance with customs clearance regulations.

The AEO concept enhances cooperation between AEO-certified companies and customs authorities.

AEO certification applies in all EU Member States and is not subject to expiry. AEO status is also recognised in Switzerland, Norway, Japan, the United States and China.

The European Union’s AEO programme simplifies certain customs procedures, which in turn facilitates trade while enhancing the security of the international supply chain. The aim of the concept is to completely secure the entire international supply chain from the goods manufacturer to the buyer or end-consumer.

Customs Broker has been AEO-certified since 2013. Our customers benefit from simplified, streamlined customs procedures. Moreover, we train our employees annually according to the latest AEO criteria.

Regulated Agent (RegB)

Customs Broker was granted the status of Regulated Agent (Reglementierter Beauftragter – RegB) by Germany’s Federal Aviation Authority in Braunschweig. As a ‘RegB,’ we are “reliability verified” and are authorised to classify air freight shipments as ‘safe’ or ‘unsafe’ in accordance with safety regulations and standards.

Whenever freight has been determined to be unsafe, it is inspected by our trained personnel with the appropriate inspection technologies. Once the consignment has passed this inspection, it is classified as ‘secured’ and delivered to the airport by a regulated carrier, thus complying with provisions for a secure supply chain.  This process avoids delays upon delivery to the airline, as well as consequential costs.
